So, is this a Jump-The-Shark moment? When a rumored product hits a mainstream site well before the rumors have hit their apex, is it a forward looking site or the death of the product? I don’t know.
CNN Money writes about the Apple Tablet having the possibility of laying waste to the rest of the competitors in various sectors, like ebooks, PSP style gaming, music, video; everything.
A single device that would fundamentally change the landscape of Apple product offerings would ruin Apple, although there will be some who want the specific device for the specific purpose. For me, I would pay more for one device that does everything I need. This is usually the case for any product; the more it does, the more you pay.
But, I would love to have an Apple Tablet that has the ability to do everything. I have an iPhone that I wouldn’t mind getting rid of if I can use my Jawbone headset instead of walking around with the phone stuck to my ear. I wouldn’t mind getting rid of my MacBook Pro because I don’t like folding laptops [hence the reason I have TabletFan.com running], and since the iPhone and the MBP are complementary products fulfilling all of my needs, a Tablet that runs OS X apps, iPhone Apps, and works as a Phone would make me a very happy consumer.
