A lot of Tablet Talk of Late

by TABLETfan on January 2, 2010

People are talking about the Apple Tablet a lot lately, probably because Apple reserved a hotel room for one big meeting and everyone is getting excited. But then there are people who are upset about the unicorn bearing Apple Tablet possibly called iSlate of which people have registered iSlate.org as if it doesn’t dawn on them that if the name is trademarked, they are knowingly violating the mark. Kinda funny. But anyway, Ars Technica’s John Siracusa writes “Antacid Tablet” with his predictions, while a mess of others write about their perceptions of things Tablet.

For instance (from Techmeme.com):

But then the detractors, such as Joe Wilcox of BetaNews who says we don’t need a tablet, and to get off his lawn. We also have Bill Ray of The Register suggesting it will lead to more control, lord knows I’ve been controlled completely by Apple products.. you know, my MacBook Pro giving me the ability to unplug for 7 hours, and my iPhone allowing me to get rid of MP3 players, GPS, compass, PSP, Credit Card Machine, a DVR so I can go to a friends house and play a movie I’ve rented, and not to mention the ebook reader, my FTP app allowing me to access my sites, and the other 8 pages of applications I have. Yep. Get your tinfoil hat ready.

edit: typo  and, I guess I’m not the only one giving Wilcox a hard time.
